Ghouls, Gimlets & Grrrowlers Halloween Party at Urban Hound Boston

Join the Urban Hound for The  First Annual Halloween Party, lovingly known as “Ghouls, Gimlets & Grrrowlers.” clock on Thursday, October 26 at 6 PM – 8 PM.

This event will be a party for Urban Hound clients and their dogs. Both dogs AND humans are encouraged to come in costume, though only the dogs will be eligible for our contest.

Dogs will socialize off-leash while their PAWrents mix and mingle. Food and drinks will be provided for everyone, including treats for spooky pups.

Last Hope K9 Rescue will be at this event with lots of info on how you can get involved with rescue, including how to become a foster parent!

If you’re still getting your costumes together, keep these in mind.
Neutral judges will be giving out 3 awards:
– The Best in Show (best all around costume/presentation)
– The “Pawp Culture” Award (most timely/relevant)
– The “Opposable Thumbs” Award (shout out to all the homemade costumes out there)
Prizes include free daycare and walks, among other great things!

Bring your pups, and enjoy some cocktails like the Arnold Pomeranian, The Moscow Drool, Hair of the Dog Bloody Mary, the Greyhound and more! Food trucks will be onsite all afternoon. Tito’s Handmade Vodka will donate $1 to Last Hope K9 for every social media post tagging #lovetitos #vodkafordogpeople and #lasthopek9
There will be live music from Old Jack, and The Rationales while you enjoy lawn games, sip cocktails, and let the pups run free in the play area! Vendors will be on site with the latest and greatest items for your four-legged friends, plus a photo booth, and more!
VIP swag bags are available with gifts for your furry friend. VIP swag bags benefit Last Hope K9 Rescue. Last Hope K9 Rescue is dedicated to saving abandoned, neglected, and/or abused dogs from high-kill shelters throughout the United States. Last Hope K9 Rescue will be onsite with dogs that are available for adoption.

Doggone Halloween Costume Parade 2017 in Downtown Boston

The 4th Annual Doggone Halloween Costume Parade sponsored by the Downtown Boston BID is going to be a gggrrrrreaat time for canines and humans! The parade is on Friday, October 27th from noon to 2 pm. This event is being cosponsored by MSPCA-Angell.
This year’s event will be on Summer Street between Washington and Hawley streets.

All well-behaved dogs (and their owners) are welcome to enter the costume contest — it’s free to enter! Every dog will receive a prize for entering the contest. Judges will award special prizes for Best Costume, Scariest Costume, Best Human and Dog Duo Costume and Most Creative Costume.

Please bring your dog on leash and only bring dogs who can get along with other dogs and be OK with a crowd. Please encourage your dog to use the bathroom before the event. This event will be in a fenced off area.

Abington Dog Park Costume Contest 2017

The Abington Dog Park Committee is  hosting its 2nd annual Canine Costume Contest on Sunday October 15th 12-4pm at the Frolio  School.    The event is part of the townwide Oktoberfest which will be taking place the entire weekend. Our family- and dog-friendly-event will take place on the lawn in front of Frolio school. There also will be family activities (games, petting zoo, bouncy house, etc), a German band and a beer tent included in the event. It was a great time, and a great fundraiser for the park!

Abington Dog Park Costume Contest 2017

We’ll have multiple prizes for best costumed pups ($3 to enter), as well as a Best Dressed Stuffed Dog contest for kids 12 and under ($1). Kids’ contest at 2, and pup contest at 3.

Bear’s Bonz and Salty Threads will be with us selling dog treats and handmade pup accessories. We’ll also have plenty of raffle items.

We’ll also be taking orders for commemorative bricks, which can be engraved with the text of your choice. The bricks will line a walkway at the dog park. Payment can be made by cash or check for two sizes of bricks: 4×8 for $100 and 8×8 for $250.
