The Quincy Animal Shelter, Inc. will celebrate 15 years of animal rescue at its 3rd annual Pawcasso: Arts for Animals on Friday, November 14, 2014, at Port 305, Marina Bay, North Quincy, MA, from 7:00 pm until 11:00pm.
This very special event will celebrate 15 years of operation as a successful No-Kill Animal Shelter. This event once again re-unites shelter supporters with Kris Henriksen, one of the original shelter founders. “Kristie has been a tremendous supporter of QAS since 1998, when she discovered the condition that Quincy’s dogs and cats were living in,” says event organizer, Sandra Sines. “She took matters into her own hands and with the help of some of her own Siros employees, started volunteering at the Animal Control building then known as the “dog pound.” Kristie approached the city and offered to help so that no more animals would be euthanized.” In June of 1999, the first of many fundraisers was held at Siros. That event raised $20,000. Our goal is to exceed that amount in 2014. “The daily cost to care for cats & dog has risen significantly over the past 15 years,.
This celebration will include local artists, hors doeuvres by Port 305, raffles, and entertainment. This is an event that everyone can enjoy; there will be photography, watercolors and handmade jewelry to purchase. It is a chance to see and purchase art work from talented artists just in time for the holidays,” s
Tickets are $50 per person and are available online at www.quincyanimalshelter.org, or at the Shelter during regular business hours. If you have any questions, please call the Shelter at 617-376-1349 or email us at events@quincyaminalshelter. org
