Bow Wow Bash at Smolak Farms 2015 in Andover MA

The  Bow Wow Bash will be held  at Smolak Farms on Saturday  June 6, 2015  10:00 AM to 04:00 in Andover MA.   Admission for each dog is $5.00  but people are Free!  Proceeds will go to Operation delta  dog

Whisker Walk 2015 at Lancaster Fairgrounds

The 8th Annual Whisker Walk will be held  on Sunday June 7th , 2015 at the Lancaster Fairgrounds 11am-3pm

What’s a Whisker Walk you Ask?

Well it’s a lot of things … but mostly it’s a FREE, fun day for families and their dogs PLUS a dog walk-a-thon fundraiser to benefit New England animal shelters and rescue groups. Each year Whisker Walk draws THOUSANDS of people and their dog/s.

With almost 100 pet related groups, companies, vendors, sponsors, manufacturers and animal rescue groups in attendance each year this is an “event not to be missed” for pet lovers and their dogs with a Blessing of the Animals kicking off the noon multi-organizational DOG WALK!

Whisker Walk has something for every one with two legs or four! Spectacular exhibits, demonstrations, hands-on animal petting opportunities, educational programs, special attractions, kid’s area, rides, adoptable pets, product giveaways, raffles, auctions, Agility Course, Frisbee Dog Show, Canine Good Citizens testing, Ask the Vet, FREE rabies vaccines, low cost micro-chipping, Blessing of the Animals, lots of food, fun and things for adults and kids to see, do and buy!

Held at the Lancaster Fairground (Home of the Bolton Fair) there are 50+ acres for Pet owners and animal lovers to walk, visit vendors, see, do and buy PLUS they can lend a paw for the animals shelters and pet rescues they love and support!

Top off your exciting day and join us for the Walk – a leisurely (almost) ONE mile stroll on shaded, flat, grassy trails with your well behaved dog (sorry other pets must stay home)

som|dog’s Spring Fling and Picnic 2015 in Somerville MA

The 3rd annual som|dog’s  “Spring Fling” and picnic event moved tosom|dog’s Picnic by the Park Somerville’s Zero New Washington Dog Park on Sunday May 31st 11-4pm. 

Picnic activities at the Holiday Inn on Washington Street and will feature a beer garden sponsored by Crate Escape on Sunday,

The event will feature local businesses and activities for dog owners and their pups.

Attendees are encouraged to bring an in-kind donation for Somerville Animal Control. Donations including collars, leashes, dry dog, cat food, kitty litter, towels and blankets are appreciated. Linens can be second-hand, but clean.

Tickets for the Beer Bark Garden can be purchased in advance; $25 for an annual som|dog membership which includes two drink and food tickets and a year-long membership to som|dog . Membership provides discounts to local businesses. To purchase tickets visit link below:

Petco Dash for Canine Cancer 5K run walk 2015 in Wellesley MA

The   Unleashed by Petco Dash for Canine Cancer 5K and fun/run will be held on Saturday May 30, 2015  9 to 12 pm at Elm Bank Reservation  in  Wellesley, MA  Proceeds will benefit  Canine Cancer Foundation & Petco Foundation. 

9:00 am – Registration & packets

10:00 am – 5K starts

10:10 am – Fun run starts

10:30 am – 1-mile leisure walk starts

11:30 am – Awards ceremony
May is Pet Cancer Awareness Month, so come out to Elm Bank Reservation and help us chase down a cure! Serious, recreational and four-legged runners are all welcome to get in on the fun for a good cause. Though most people don’t realize it, pet cancer is the No. 1 disease-related killer of dogs and cats. Furthermore, nearly 50% of pet deaths are due to cancer. That is why Unleashed by Petco is organizing the Dash for Pet Cancer 5k & Fun Run. We are helping organizations like the Blue Buffalo Foundation for Cancer Research (BBFCR) and the National Canine Cancer Foundation (NCCF) raise money for research to find a cure. Since 1999, the Petco Foundation has helped millions of orphaned pets find forever homes through animal-welfare organizations across the nation. It also funds spaying and neutering, animal-assisted therapy programs and humane education. This is the sixth year the Petco Foundation has teamed up with Blue Buffalo to promote Pet Cancer Awareness Month and to raise money to help find a cure.
