The Scituate Animal Shelter will be holding their Spring Yard sale Saturday April 12th and Sunday April 13th at the Knights of Columbus. One of South Shore’s LARGEST! Thousands of items including children’s toys, collectables, household items and many new or gently used treasures. Knights of Columbus Hall, Route 3A, Scituate from 9am – 3pm both days.

As a non-profit organization, The Scituate Animal Shelter continues our drive to provide the best quality care for animals of the greater South Shore region which can no longer be cared for by their previous owners. Animals entrusted to the care of the animal shelter are provided optimal treatment in a state-of-the-art facility by a qualified professional staff and trained volunteers focused on finding forever homes for these pets. Fairy Dog Parents will be hosting their 4th annual Lucky Dog Bowlathon at the Hanover Boston Bowl on Sunday March 16th at 4pm.
Choose from 10 Pin or Candlepin bowling. You can start a team (up to 6 people) or we can assign you to a team of dog loving bowlers.
Registration fee covers 2 hours of bowling, shoe rental, pizza and soda. Beer and wine available at cash bar.
$20 to register
Minimum $25 fundraising goal per bowler also required.
We will be raising money for specific sponsor dogs this year so you will know which dog/s will benefit from your fundraising effort. Our goal is to raise $5000 this year!

The 5th annual Paws for Celebration! An evening of wine/beer tasting, refreshments and a fabulous silent auction a fundraiser for Animal Protection Center of Southeastern Massachusetts will be held on Saturday April 5th evening. 6pm-10pm
Since opening our doors in 2009, Animal Protection Center of Southeastern Massachusetts has placed more than 4,000 animals in new homes – come join in the festivities as we recognize all those who work hard to help the animals! Entertainment provided by DJ Spencer 4 Hire.

There will be Dog Behavior Seminar on Sunday March 2nd at River Dog in Somerville with award winning behaviorist/trainer Chris Fraize from Canine Solutions Training Services.
Chris has over 20 years of dog training and dog handling and canine rehabilitation experience. He has been featured on several TV and Radio programs including Animal Planet, WJBQ Radio, and The National Geographic Channel. Chris has also written articles on canine behavior and behavior rehabilitation, training and Breed Specific Legislation (BSL) for Dog Insight Magazine and Dog Sports Magazine.
He is a Certified decoy (the bad guy that gets bitten) for the National Association of Protection Dogs, K-9 Pro Sports, National Working Dog Association and winner of the 2000 Dog Sports Open Magazine Decoy competition. In addition he conducts bite prevention seminars for the Animal Control Officers of New England, Maine Safety Council, Central Maine Power, Local Fire Departments and many more organizations. Chris was honored by the Working Dog Foundation and the New Hampshire Police K-9 Academy with the Chairman’s Award for outstanding service.
Chris has competed and placed in obedience trials, personal protection trials, weight pull competitions, catch work, agility, herding and many other dog sports competitions all over the United States.
This is a great opportunity to learn how unwanted behaviors can be corrected. This will be a small group so you will experience the behavior and corrections of other dogs, and also receive one on one behavior guidance with your dog.
The seminar will be held at RiverDog, 321 Somerville Ave., Somerville MA on Sunday, March 2, 2014 from 9:00am until 4:00pm. A light lunch and refreshments will be served.
Cost for the seminar is $150.00 per dog (2 person max per dog) and space is very limited, so reserve your space now . If you wish to attend without a dog the cost is $100.00 per person.
The 2nd annual Doggie Dash will be held on Sunday April 13th at the Wompatuck State Park in Hingham MA. It is a 2-mile road race with your dog! Show your loyal companion(s) you love them back by letting them participate in one of the best days of the dog year The Doggie Dash will benefit Adorable Adoptables Animal Rescue & Sanctuary.

Adorable Adoptables Animal Rescue & Sanctuary
Adorable Adoptable’s is a strictly volunteer group committed to saving animals from county animal control, primarily “high kill” shelters, and owner surrenders and strays. We provide re-homing where possible and provide permanent sanctuary when rehoming is not practical. Our volunteer fosters provide loving homes for these disadvantaged animals and our organization provides all veterinary care needed before re-homing and forever for sanctuary animals.

The Ispwich Humane Shelter will be holding a Rabies Clinic for Dogs & Cats will be on Saturday, February 22nd from 1-3pm at the Ipswich DPW garage on County Rd.
REQUIRED: Please bring past vaccination records for determining if your pet receives the 1 year or 3 year vaccine.
Cost is not yet known but will be under $20 per animal. We will update when the cost per animal is determined
Massachusetts requires that all Dogs need to have a current rabies certificate to be licensed.
Ipswich Humane Group is a non-profit, group that assists Ipswich Animal Control to enable a no-kill animal shelter for the Town of Ipswich. IHG is 100% donation funded. 100% volunteer run.
The Ipswich Humane Group, Inc was founded in 1982. The facilities at the Ipswich pound were inadequate and the Animal Control Officer had no relief caring for the animals on weekends or holidays. There was no adoption program for the stray or abandoned cats and dogs and no extra money for medical care.
